a very hard year, this one. but ever since i met her, i’ve religiously created a new piece of art dedicated to her every year, and this year will be no different. the idea of her sitting at the table and leaning down came from an album cover i came across recently. the simple idea of sadness being something as small as a person sitting alone and resting their head on a table while the world unravels around them is quite profound to me.
i decided to go with a different art style this time to better capture the emotions of what all of this actually means to me. going with a noir tone was a tough but thematic choice as i’d love to have the picture in color, but it also carries some of my artistic baggage as it reflects more accurately towards the current theme of my life, which happens to be sorrow and dissonance.
i think i really suck at saying goodbye to most things. reliving these weird memories over and over again always ends up making me melancholic. anyway, i thought this was a nice way to say goodbye to my memories with her and this place itself.
you’re the one way out. and i’m your dark horse clown.
ella look, you made it out :)
